Since synthetic polymers have been integrated into production worldwide, natural rubber is not widely used.

If you need the elasticity but not the strength or durability of a polymer, use natural rubber. If you can imagine stretching an elastic band, made from natural rubber, and adding a small cut to the band, the strength and durability will be go straight away.

Specialised Polymer Engineering generally doesn’t use natural rubber due to the limitations of the material and there are more capable alternatives available; although we do for special cases such as conservation work for historical accuracy, etc.

Natural rubber is fine for say, restoration of an older aircraft especially if you are restoring one back to its original state, using the same products.
